Our story begins in 1954 when a band of Jamaican ministers chose integrity and local stewardship. After prayer and counsel they stepped into the unknown and took the name New Testament Assembly. Benefit Hall on Mannings Avenue in Port Antonio became an early home. Families opened their doors. Workers gave time and treasure. What began with simple obedience grew into a fellowship marked by worship, teaching, and care for people.
Across the years congregations took root parish by parish. In Portland the gospel reached Port Antonio, Mill Bank, Reach, Nonsuch, and Hope Bay. In Kingston believers gathered from Beeston Street outward. The Assembly secured premises at 2a Allan Avenue which served as a worship center and national headquarters. Fellowship days drew churches together for prayer and the preaching of the word. Young leaders were trained. Communities were served. Lives were changed.
Today the same grace carries us. Pastors are strengthened. Youth and worship teams are rising. Testimonies of salvation, healing, and restored families continue. Our parish pages guide visitors to open doors and warm welcomes. We honour our founders by guarding integrity, serving with compassion, and staying faithful to the mission God has given us.
We celebrate seventy years with gratitude and expectation. May the Lord who planted this work keep us humble, unite our hearts in love, and lead us into fruitful years of evangelism and discipleship across Jamaica and beyond.
